In the previous post Cat Arthritis And Magnetic Therapy, we saw how magnetic therapy can help alleviate the arthritis pain in cats in a drug free manner. This post will continue on this topic of magnetic therapy treatment for cats.

How magnetic therapy works in pets

It is well known that a magnet in its basic form is iron or steel object charged in an electromagnetic field. These magnets can be of ferrite core or natural earth materials like boron and iron. Each magnet is characterized by the presence of a north pole and a south pole.

When a cat is exposed to the north pole of a magnet, there are numerous beneficial effects that helps it gain drug free cat arthritis pain relief and reduction of hyperactivity.

Pet magnetic therapy treatment benefits

Helps in relaxation of muscles

Reduces the blood pressure

Healing of fractures by bringing down the acidity which helps bones heal quicker

Decrease in the growth of bacteria and viruses

Reduction in the growth of abnormal cells

Enhances the blood circulation which reduces inflammation

Increase in the red blood cell count

Stimulate tissues and increase the oxygen flow to tissues

Note:
There are two important things to be aware of when subjecting cats to magnetic therapy treatment.

Firstly, cat owners are strongly advised to consult their veterinarian before subjecting their cat to magnetic therapy.

Secondly, do not use the south pole of the magnet to treat cats especially if they have infections. Using the south pole of the magnet over the cat’s head can be deleterious causing abnormal behavior. Also an increase in white blood cell count can increase inflammation.

Different forms of magnetic therapy treatment for cats

It is to be remembered that the blood circulation in the bodies of pets, especially cats and dogs is much quicker than in humans. Because of their comparatively smaller body size, the blood circulates rapidly in pets and this paves the way for better and more rapid absorption of magnetic fields in cats and dogs than humans.

When magnets are placed around the neck of a cat, in the form of a magnetic collar, the magnetic fields emitted are absorbed by the carotid artery really fast. This artery is crucial in carrying the oxygen from the cat’s heart to the head and neck.

The enhanced blood circulation in pets results in stimulating the tissues and reducing the inflammation in the joints of the cat affected by arthritis.

Another ideal form of magnetic therapy treatment for cats is the pet magnetic bed which exposes the whole body of the cat to beneficial magnetic fields and helps alleviate the arthritic pain in the joints and also helps the cat gain a sound night’s sleep.

Moreover, the use of magnetic therapy on cats drastically reduces the attacks of parasites like ear mites and fleas as these cannot survive in an electromagnetic field leaving the cats with no itching sensation and reduced risk of infection.

PetMag from Woolrest BioMag

The pet magnetic bed from Woolrest BioMag called the PetMag consists of powerful permanent magnets embedded strategically in luxurious Australian wool helping cats gain drug free pain relief from arthritis.

Lying on a PetMag helps your catt in getting a sound night’s sleep and allows it to move around freely with easing of joints affected by arthritis after a few nights of sleeping on the pet magnetic bed. Try a PetMag for the most natural cat pain relief treatment possible.

Magnetic therapy for cats is an ideal alternative treatment that provides cat pain relief without invasive surgery or use of powerful drugs. Cats are sensitive animals and they need a soothing treatment to put them at ease.

Cats affected by other unique problems

The modern world we live in poses challenges not only to humans but also to cats. The minute we wake up from sleep, we are subjected to sounds of all kinds day in and day out. Cats also get bombarded by such sounds as it can be three times louder to them than what it sounds to an average human.

The immune system of cats tend to break down due to the rigors of living in the modern day world. The purring of cats is itself a healing therapy as the sounds emitted are in the range of healing frequencies.

Magnetic therapy treatment for cat pain relief

Magnetic therapy treatment for cats in the form of pet magnetic bed or the PetMag, a pet magnetic therapy product from Woolrest BioMag, helps provide drug free arthritis pain relief.

The magnetic fields also restore the cat’s body to a balanced energy state leaving them refreshed with improved energy levels that lets them move around without hassles.

The enhanced blood circulation in the pet’s body also strengthens the cat’s immune system by increasing the flow of cellular nutrients and oxygen at the cellular level thus flushing out the toxins. This improved circulation also helps in the healing of tissues.

Note: As a pet owner, the onus is on you to consult your veterinarian before subjecting your cat to magnetic therapy treatment for arthritis pain relief.

In our previous post titled Dog Arthritis And Magnetic Therapy, we looked at the causes of arthritis in dogs and the early warning signs of onset of arthritis in dogs. In this post, we will look at the immune mediated arthritis and how magnetic therapy can be used to control dog arthritis.

Immune Mediated Arthritis

The immune mediated arthritis is caused by antibodies that attack a dog’s own connective tissue resulting in either an erosive arthritis or a non-erosive arthritis.

Erosive arthritis damages a dog’s cartilage and joint surfaces. Non-erosive arthritis causes inflammation in the joints but it does not destroy connective tissue.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an erosive arthritis that occurs to a large extent in small dogs. Non-erosive arthritis largely occurs in midsize to large sized dogs.

Magnetic therapy for treating dog arthritis

The pet magnetic bed from Woolrest BioMag called the PetMag consists of powerful permanent magnets embedded in luxurious Australian wool to emit beneficial static magnetic fields that your dog is exposed to when it sleeps on the pet magnetic bed.

The static magnetic fields reduces the inflammation and improves the blood circulation in the arthritis affected areas in the dog, mainly the joints. This improved blood circulation helps carry nutrients and more oxygen to the affected regions thus reducing the inflammation and easing the pain.

Magnetic therapy in dogs is ideal for fracture healing. The effect of static magnetic fields increases the calcium ions concentration at the fractured area and formation of the callus that helps in effective healing of fractures.

In addition to this, magnetic therapy helps in restoring the pet’s body to a balanced energy state and helps in improving the dog’s metabolism. Apart from treating canine arthritis, magnetic therapy helps in alleviating other disorders like hip dysplasia, osteochondritis, arthritis of the spine, vertebral problems and chronic pain disorders.

Advantages of magnetic therapy for dog arthritis treatment

Magnetic therapy is a safe alternative treatment for dog arthritis that is non-invasive and avoids use of powerful drugs that produce harmful side effects. It is also a cost effective treatment saving pet owners expensive vet and drug bills.

Magnetic therapy helps alleviate the pain characteristic of arthritis in dogs. Magnetic therapy in combination with conventional fracture healing techniques helps in the healing of fractures in pets with complete union of the fracture where the ends of the fracture heal very well. Generally in a non-union fractures, the ends of the fracture do not heal and the bone endings remain.

It is strongly advised that pet owners contact a veterinarian before subjecting their dog or cat to magnetic therapy treatment. A vet can also suggest the correct strength of magnets to be used in the pet magnetic bed to give the pets total relief from dog arthritis pain or cat pain relief.

Pet magnetic therapy from Woolrest BioMag

The pet magnetic bed or PetMag manufactured by Woolrest BioMag consists of powerful static magnets embedded strategically in luxurious Australian wool to help alleviate the dog arthritis pain in a drug free manner.

Allowing your dog or cat to sleep on the PetMag overnight stimulates the blood flow and reduce inflammation in the regions affected by arthritis. This gives your pet freedom of movement without stressing the affected joints and helps give your dog or cat a better sense of well being. Try a PetMag today and give your pet the best possible natural dog arthritis treatment.

Arthritis in dogs is a degenerative condition that affects adult dogs of all ages and breeds. Normally, one in five adult dogs in the US is affected by arthritis. Large breed dogs are affected more than the small dogs. Heavier dogs feel the symptoms of arthritis more on ligaments and joints due to their weight.

Causes of dog arthritis

Most cases of dog arthritis are inherited orthopedic diseases like hip dysplasia, injury in the joints or osteochondrosis. A few cases of arthritis are due to infection of the joints.

Signs of arthritis in dogs

As dogs cannot verbally express their predicament like humans, the onus is upon dog owners to look out for early warning signs of arthritis in dogs including subtle changes. Some of the indicators of arthritis which dog owners have to keep their eyes peeled for are:

Tendency of the dog to use a particular limb more than others

Lameness, stiffness and joint pain especially on waking up in the morning

Tendency to take more naps than normal

Hesitation in climbing stairs, jumping or running

Gaining weight

Less inclined to play or indulge in physical activity

Behavioral changes

Attitudinal changes

Reduction in alertness levels

If a dog owner can see any of these symptoms over a period of fifteen days, then it is best to take his/her pet to the veterinarian and get a physical examination done and also X-ray analysis. Early diagnosis and a proper plan of treatment is crucial to effective management of canine arthritis.

Osteoarthritis treatment in dogs

Osteoarthritis in dogs is degenerative disease of the joints. Although joint disease cannot be cured, it can be controlled through proper treatment that is made up of physical therapy and weight control.

Conventional medicines in the form of analgesics and corticosteroids can help provide pain relief but also create a host of harmful side effects in your dear dog. Alternative treatments like magnetic therapy for dogs and acupuncture provide excellent drug free pain relief minus the expensive drugs and harmful side effects.

It is of utmost importance to consult a veterinarian before subjecting the dog to magnetic therapy treatment.

Monitored physical activity key to canine arthritis control

Exercise that is moderated and monitored by veterinary physical therapists is a key factor in controlling the spread of arthritis. Exercise helps the dog in maintaining muscle mass and the flexibility of joints. Swimming is an excellent activity that achieves such results without placing stress on the joints.

Owners should avoid exercising their arthritic dogs in excess as it can create more problems in future. Dogs with arthritis should not be allowed to jump up and down. Moreover, they should be exercised on a harness.

Magnetic therapy for dog arthritis

Magnetic therapy from Woolrest BioMag in the form of pet magnetic beds or the PetMag consists of static magnets embedded strategically in luxurious Australian wool.

Getting an arthritic dog to sleep on this pet magnetic bed exposes him to beneficial static magnetic fields throughout the night and helps alleviate the arthritis pain drug free and helps your dog move around with less discomfort the next morning.

Pet magnetic therapy has been bolstered over the years with a lot of scientific research proving the efficacy of magnetic therapy in treating physical ailments in dogs, cats and horses without causing any harmful side effects and sans expensive invasive surgery.

Types of magnets used in pet magnetic therapy

In magnetic therapy for pets, as in humans, static magnetic fields and pulsed magnetic fields are used. Static magnets can be embedded in wraps and strapped around the injured region of your pet’s body. Alternatively, pets are made to sleep on a pet magnetic bed interspersed with powerful static magnets.

The magnets themselves are of the order of 250 gauss to 2500 gauss. Generally the magnets are uni directionally applied to the body with the negative north pole attributed to majority of the healing. The south pole is a good stimulant for tissue growth.

In recent times, the introduction of bipolar magnets has added a new dimension to magnetic therapy. Bipolar magnets have repeatable north/south polarity on the same side of the magnet when conventionally the north and south poles are located on different sides of the magnet.

In short, recommendations vary when it comes to placing magnets in the injured region of your pet’s body. Either the magnet’s north or south pole can be placed in a direction north or south of the injury. From a vet’s perspective, many agree that only the north pole should be allowed to come in contact with the skin.

How magnetic therapy is applied with pets

It is of primary importance to consult a veterinarian and have your pet dog or cat checked thoroughly before subjecting your pet to magnetic therapy treatment.

Static magnets when applied to the pet’s acupuncture points helps stimulate these points. This is very effective for treating pet musculoskeletal problems such as arthritis in dogs especially affecting the back, knees and elbows. It is effective for treating hip dysplasia.

Advantages of pet magnetic bed over magnetic wraps

Pets are active and frisky and it is hard to keep them down in one place. Wraps with static magnets embedded in them can be strapped around the injured region of your pet’s body. The constant movement of the pet makes it hard for the wraps to stay attached to its body.

A pet magnetic bed is ideal especially for hyperactive pets and large dogs affected by arthritis. These pet magnetic beds or PetMags consist of luxurious Australian wool embedded strategically with static magnets help your pet canine or feline get the best possible exposure to beneficial static magnetic fields and providing drug free pain relief from dog arthritis or injuries.

After lying on these pet magnetic beds, you will be surprised to see a marked improvement in energy levels of your dear dog or cat and they can move around freely without experiencing the dreadful arthritis pain. They also get the benefit of a sound night’s sleep. Constant exposure to magnetic fields improves the healing of your pet’s arthritis.

Magnetic therapy for pets has become very popular form of alternative treatment to relieve your pet dog or cat of arthritis and provide drug free pain relief. Both static magnetic fields and pulsed magnetic fields have been used effectively to treat pets with drastic improvement in their physical condition.

Pet magnetic therapy treatment Vs Conventional treatment

Conventional treatment offers pets pain relief through powerful drugs which may cause other harmful side effects.

The problem cited by the scientific and medical community for treating pets with magnetic therapy is the belief heat needs to be generated to cause biological action and that static or pulsed magnetic fields are not capable of solving pet pain problems.

The medical community is especially fond of citing placebo effect when it comes to pain relief in humans undergoing magnetic therapy treatment. But pet owners have seen their loved pets move about freely once they have started sleeping on their pet magnetic bed. Animals cannot understand the placebo effect concept.

But research has proved otherwise showing the beneficial effects of magnetic therapy for alleviating pain in pets. Experimental research done on rats and mice clearly indicate the biological effects wrought by magnetic therapy in animals. This research has extended to other animals like horses, dogs, cats, pigs, birds etc.

Relation between pets and human biology

Research indicates clearly that biology of both pets and humans are affected by electromagnetic fields (EMFs). Even though tests are done on animals before implementing treatments in humans, it may not be true in all the cases. Results are bound to vary depending on the species treated and the effects that are being monitored.

Research models for specific diseases affecting specific species of animals have a strong correlation to human biology and function, especially at the cellular level. Some of the diseases that need mention are heart diseases in dogs, canine arthritis, cancers in mice etc.

In most cases, treatments that work in animals will work in humans as well. In conventional medicine, drugs are tested first on animals and if there is a positive reaction, then depending on the appropriateness of the treatment, it is used in humans.

Pets react positively to magnetic therapy

Pet magnetic therapy in the form of static magnetic fields was first used in the US and horses were the first recipients of this magnetic therapy treatment. Over time, pulsed magnetic fields were also used to treat horses.

With magnetic therapy increasing in prominence, the results clearly showed that static magnets embedded in blankets were wrapped around horses having acute pain problems.

This alleviated the pain so dramatically that horses were saved from undergoing surgery or escaped euthanasia. The confirmation of this result came from a veterinarian at a conference at the North America Academy of Magnetic Therapy.

Magnetic therapy for treating depression is proving to be a popular alternative treatment. In the US alone, there are roughly around 20 million people who are treated for depression every year. Magnetic therapy treatment for depression has a very tangible benefit in being a non-chemical treatment.

The biggest problem with conventional medicine for treating depression is the administering of powerful drugs which gives rise to a slew of harmful side effects. Magnetic therapy deals with restoration of the energy levels in the body and bringing the body to a balanced state. Magnetic therapy is totally safe and bereft of any harmful side effects.

Magnetic therapy for depression treatment

In our previous post titled Magnetic Therapy For Depression, we saw how brain imaging technologies like Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) can identify physical changes in the brain that is characteristic of people affected by depression.

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS)

After identifying the area of the brain that causes depression using MRI technique, a hand held device emitting electromagnetic fields is used to stimulate that affected part of the brain. The use of magnetic therapy in such a manner is called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation or rTMS.

rTMS using magnetic field therapy has been incredibly helpful in treating people affected by depression without any harmful side effects that drugs are prone to cause. Moreover, a prolonged period of treatment with drugs makes the affected parts of the brain drug resistant making conventional treatment ineffective.

Use of magnetic therapy in treating depression

Magnetic fields are used to stimulate the depression affected areas of the head and help in alleviating the symptoms of depression. This non-invasive treatment involves the magnetic fields penetrating through the bones of the skull and impacting the affected region with maximum impact.

Patients undergoing magnetic therapy treatment for depression are not even sedated with local anaesthetic. No other special arrangements are needed for this treatment which restores the energy at the cellular level and restores the body to a balanced energy state.

Scientific evidence for magnetic therapy easing depression

A double blind study at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology clearly proves that magnetic stimulation of the brain eases severe depression. Research proves that Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) of the brain is highly effective in treating severe depression compared to electroconvulsive treatment (ECT) which is accompanied by harmful side effects such as memory loss and painful convulsions.

In a double blind study involving 67 patients, the effects of application of repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) was studied. Neither the patients nor the researchers knew who was receiving the real treatment and who was receiving false treatment.

After two weeks, half of the group receiving rTMS treatment showed at least 50% improvement in alleviation of depression. A quarter of those in the false treatment group showed the same improvement.

The best result was that more than half of the real treatment group did not need further electroconvulsive treatment (ECT). Those receiving the false treatment had to further undergo ECT.

“Our findings are very exciting, since they provide clear evidence for the effectiveness of rTMS, at least over the short term,” explained Dr. Ehud Klein of the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion and head of the Department of Psychiatry at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa.

Magnetic therapy from Woolrest BioMag

Magnetic therapy from Woolrest BioMag consists of magnetic therapy products that are a unique combination of powerful static magnets embedded in luxurious Australian wool to help alleviate the effects of depression.

Magnetic pillow pads which are in close proximity to the head during sleep help in impacting areas close to the surface of the skull and providing much needed relief to symptoms of depression. Try our magnetic mattress pads and magnetic mattress toppers risk free for 60 days and feel the difference.

In our previous post Depression And Magnetic Therapy, we discussed the different types of depression and the symptoms of depression that affects people of all ages across the world.

Magnetic therapy can help alleviate the effects of depression through a non-invasive treatment that produces effective results. It is important to know the causes of depression and how it affects people of different ages.

Causes of depression

Depression can occur as severe despondency and dejection along with feelings of hopelessness. Clinical depression is a mental illness caused by disorder of the brain. Generally, depression is a combination of several factors, the main ones being biological, environmental, genetic and physiological.

Biological causes of depression

Brain imaging technologies like Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) indicate the physical changes in the brains of people affected by depression. There is a marked difference in areas of the brain that relate to sleep, moods, thoughts, behavior and appetite. But these images of physcial changes cannot pinpoint why depression occurs in humans.

Physiological causes of depression

Neurotransmitters

The brain cells use chemicals for communicating with each other thurough electrical signals. Such chemicals are called neurotransmitters. They are also linked to changes in moods and believed to play a part in depression.

Hormones

The endocrine system in the human body is responsible for creation of hormones and releasing them into the blood stream. The endocrine system is connected to the brain at the hypothalamus which controls some of the major body activities like sleep, appetite etc. Hormonal irregularities can cause changes in the chemistry of the brain leading to depression.

Genetic causes of depression

Although depression can occur in people who are born into families with no previous history, chances of depression affecting people with a family history of the illness is also high.

A study of certain genes in people makes them more prone to depression. This means that there is a higher chance of people inheriting the vulnerability to depression if they have a family history.

There is also the risk of combination of genes acting together with environmental factors that can bring about depression. Bipolar disorder has the strongest genetic influence among all brain disorders.

Environmental causes of depression

As mentioned above, environmental factors can trigger depression in some people. Such factors can vary from death of a loved one to physical trauma, relationship problems, stressful situations and financial problems. Childhood trauma is also a trigger factor in developing depression.

Magnetic therapy for treating depression

Magnetic therapy from Woolrest BioMag helps alleviate the symptoms of depression without the use of powerful drugs or invasive surgery. Lack of sleep is a major symptom of depression in many people.

Powerful static magnetic fields emanating from magnets embedded in our magnetic mattress pads and toppers embedded in luxurious Australian wool helps in stimulation of endocrine glands to produce melatonin, a chemical that syncs the body clock and helps in onset of sleep.

A good night’s sleep is a key factor in the fight against depression. Test drive the Woolrest BioMag magnetic therapy products risk free for 60 days and feel the difference.

Depression affects both the mind and body by impacting the feelings, thoughts and behavior of a person causing both emotional and physical problems. It can affect the routine day to day activities and make life miserable.

Depression is a chronic illness that needs continuous treatment and is not something that can be cured overnight. Apart from convention treatments like medication and counseling, magnetic therapy provides an effective treatment for depression.

Different types of depression

Major depression

The symptoms of major depression tend to interfere with a person’s normal daily activities such as inability to sleep, eat, study, enjoy fun activities and work. It prevents a person from behaving normally.

Dysthymia

The symptoms of dysthymia may not be as severe as that of major depression but it lasts over a couple of years or more. People affected by dysthymia do not feel well both in body and mind.

Minor depression

The symptoms of minor depression last for a couple of weeks and are not as serious as major depression. If untreated, the minor depression can develop into major depressive disorder.

Bipolar disorder

This is a manic depressive illness and the most defining symptom of this condition is change in moods varying from extreme highs or manias to extreme lows or depression.

Symptoms of depression

A group of people all affected by depression do not experience the same symptoms. The symptoms can vary in their frequency, severity levels and duration depending on the individual in question.

The symptoms of depression include:

Constant feeling of sadness and anxiety

Pessimistic feelings

Guilt and worthlessness feelings

Restlessness

Inability to enjoy fun filled activities

Tiredness and lack of energy

Problems in concentration and remembering things

Inability to make decisions

Sleeplessness or excessive sleep

Loss of appetite or overeating

Suicidal thoughts

Aches, pains or digestion problems that do not respond to treatment

In the next post, we will discuss the causes of depression and how depression affects people of different ages.

Magnetic therapy for depression

Magnetic therapy is increasingly used for treating depression as an effective alternative treatment. It is a non-chemical treatment and does not involve invasive surgery.

Magnetic therapy products from Woolrest BioMag can alleviate the symptoms of depression through continuous exposure to static magnetic fields. Test drive our magnetic mattress pads and magnetic pillow pads risk free for 60 days and feel the difference.

In our previous post titled Magnetic Field Therapy For Arthritis Treatment, we saw the various aspects of magnetic field therapy.

Magnetic therapy treatment for arthritis can vary depending on the use of type of magnetic fields. They can be static magnetic fields or pulsed magnetic fields. We will deal with both these aspects of magnetic field therapy in this post.

Arthritis treatment using static magnetic fields

Static magnetic fields can be very helpful in treating arthritis in the individual joints or local application specific to a certain area of the body. Even if the static magnetic fields cannot cover the whole joint, the painful areas around the joint can experience pain relief.

Static magnetic fields are highly effective in treating joints close to the skin surface such as the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), joints of the rib, foot and hand joints.

The important point to keep in mind is that the strength of the magnetic field drops off quickly from the center of the static magnets. Hence these magnets work well when close to the skin surface.

This does not mean that static magnetic fields do not help in treating arthritis in large joints like hips, knees or joints in the spine. Static magnets sewn into a suitable material like the magnetic mattress pads can provide arthritis pain relief in these joints over the course of a good night’s sleep. Drug free pain relief is an important result of magnetic field treatment for arthritis.

If the affected large joints are subjected to continuous exposure of static magnetic fields in the form of wraps, braces etc, it can provide great relief from arthritic pain. But it is also important to remove them from time to time to allow the body to return to a balanced energy state.

Arthritis treatment using pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF)

Pulsed magnetic fields are created when an electric current flows through a metal coil creating an electromagnetic field. The electric signals of varying frequencies creates electromagnetic fields of various strengths. These waves are capable of penetrating tissues and bones in the body.

The pulsed magnetic fields or time varying magnetic fields are not dependent on the magnetic field strength to provide drug free arthritis pain relief. Moreover, the duration of the treatment exposure does not have to be for lengthy period of time.

At the beginning, exposure to long periods of pulsed magnetic fields is necessary to determine the correct waveform, amplitude and frequency so that it can cause regeneration of bone and cartilage in the arthritis affected joints. These characteristics of the pulse wave can vary depending on the individual being treated.

The biggest advantage in using PEMF is that both local and systemic applications work excellently producing great results in relieving arthritic pain without invasive surgery and no side effects. The regeneration of bone and cartilage using PEMFs has enabled sufferers of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis to manage their pain levels and enjoy a better lifestyle.

How do PEMFs help?

The arthritis affected joints are exposed to short bursts of pulsed magnetic fields of the order of 15 to 20 minutes at least twice a day over a specified number of days. This charges the cells causing them to be energized. The transportation of cellular nutrients is improved vastly and the cellular waste is also cleaned out effectively.

The result of using pulsed electromagnetic field for arthritis treatment is that the patient can feel increased warmth in the body due to better circulation. Other effects include relief from discomfort, improved relaxation and arthritis pain relief.
